Every year, many families with children may not be able to provide food and toys through the holidays. The community and over 100 partners generously gather food and toys from October through mid December for this annual event. Our watchful community nominates families in need and we invite the parents or guardians in the week before Christmas. On that special day, volunteers dress as elves and escort those guests through the facility to gather hams or turkeys, food, resources and toys. This annual event is very special and the smiles created by this community kindness is memorable.
At H.O.P.E. Park In McDonough Georgia, families with special needs can enjoy this new park dedicated to special needs. At this event, young and old can be Super Heroes for the day while playing, sharing fun and having lunch with friends and family. We're honored to be apart of this wonderful day and cook for everyone.
United Food Force was more than happy to provide food, drinks, cooks, volunteers and fun!
We had a blast recreating Willy Wonka and the kids and adults loved it! We all dressed up in full costume and entertained the families through our two tents. Upon entry all got a chocolate bar, entered the chocolate fountain room to dip fruits, then float in the bubble room and finally entered the room of lights and animals to enjoy apple cider and cookies. We had three golden ticket winners at the end of the day to win large baskets of goodies.
Vance McCutcheon, Vice President of United Food Force, has been invited to MC these events for 2017 and 2018. "I am honored and have so much fun!"
The Mr. & Miss Special Henry County Pageant began in 2003, and continued to be held by People’s First of Henry County through 2010, crowning sixteen Kings and Queens. At that time, The Mr. & Miss Special Henry County Pageant Organization was formed and continued the tradition. The pageant has grown to between 30 -40 contestants the past few years, and also included the Junior Division which started in 2013. This organization crowned a total of 36 kings and queens.
In January 2015, The Mr. & Miss Special Henry County Pageant joined with H.O.P.E Park to continue this excellent program. As a part of H.O. P. E Park, the Mr. & Miss Special Henry County Pageant will continue to bring joy and happiness to the contestants, their families and our community, under the new title of The H.O.P.E. Park Special Pageant.
The H.O.P.E. Park Special Pageant provides our contestants the opportunity to participate in a pageant just for them, where they can meet new friends, learn new social skills, and to be made to feel very handsome and beautiful.
